The Commonwealth Home Remodeling and Design Team

Susan Pierce, AIA, Principal Architect

Susan is a LEED certified Registered Architect with nearly 30 years experience. Her responsibilities include: understanding client needs and desires, designing, business planning, reviewing construction documents, writing specifications, and coordinating specialty products used in construction.

Prior to forming Commonwealth Home Design in 1986, Susan was with the award-winning architecture firm of Sutton Sullenberger Associates Architecture in Vienna, VA. Prior to that, she interned in the Washington, DC office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, one of the leading architecture firms in the world.

As a lifelong resident of Virginia, Susan is very active in various community projects. She’s served as a judge for several national design awards programs and also served on several construction industry boards.

Susan is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute’s College of Architecture and Urban Studies.

Kelvin Pierce, President

While working for the Navy as an aerospace engineer from 1983-1986, Kelvin honed his technical and organizational skills and created the framework for a highly successful home design/build firm. He utilizes engineering aptitudes while preparing budgets, writing specifications and construction schedules, and supervising project teams.

Outside of work, Kelvin runs the Divine Child Foundation, a charity founded by Kelvin and Susan, dedicated to helping orphans in the Republic of Georgia. Click here for more information about the organization and its accomplishments.

Kelvin is Past President of Vienna Rotary Club and Current President of Vienna Rotary Foundation.

Vicki Cecchetti, Interior Designer

Vicki has over ten years experience in all aspects of residential interior design. Her work includes design, space planning and material specifications for residential kitchen and bath remodeling projects. She listens to needs of client, prepares and delivers design presentations, estimates material costs for approval, and works closely with project architects to ensure the proper execution of plans. Vicki strives to consistently fulfill and exceed the needs of Commonwealth’s clients.

Prior to joining Commonwealth, Vicki was an expert kitchen and bath designer for Patete Kitchen and Bath Design Center in Pittsburgh, PA and The Kitchen Guild/Fairfax Interiors Group in Fairfax, VA.
