Susan Pierce, AIA, Principal Architect

Susan is a LEED-certified Registered Architect with over 35 years of experience. Her responsibilities include understanding client needs and desires, designing, business planning, reviewing construction documents, writing specifications, and coordinating specialty products used in construction.

Prior to forming Commonwealth Home Design in 1986, Susan was with the award-winning architecture firm of Sutton Sullenberger Associates Architecture in Vienna, VA. Before that, she interned in the Washington, DC, office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, one of the leading architecture firms in the world.

As a lifelong resident of Virginia, Susan is very active in various community projects. She’s served as a judge for several national design awards programs and on several construction industry boards.

Susan is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute’s College of Architecture and Urban Studies.

Kelvin Pierce, President

While working for the Navy as an aerospace engineer from 1983-1986, Kelvin honed his technical and organizational skills and created the framework for a highly successful home design/build firm. He utilizes engineering aptitudes while preparing budgets, writing specifications and construction schedules, and supervising project teams.

In addition to his work for Commonwealth, Kelvin runs the Divine Child Foundation, a charity founded by Kelvin and Susan, dedicated to helping orphans in the Republic of Georgia.

Kelvin is the Past President of Vienna Rotary Club and the Past President of Vienna Rotary Foundation.

Vicki Cecchetti, Interior Designer

Vicki has over 22 years of experience in all aspects of residential interior design.

Her work includes design, space planning, and material specifications for residential kitchen and bath remodeling projects. She listens to the needs of our clients, prepares and delivers design presentations, estimates material costs for approval, and works closely with project architects to ensure the proper execution of plans.

Vicki consistently strives to fulfill and exceed the needs of Commonwealth’s clients.

Before joining Commonwealth, Vicki was an expert kitchen and bath designer for Patete Kitchen and Bath Design Center in Pittsburgh, PA, and The Kitchen Guild/Fairfax Interiors Group in Fairfax, VA.

Outside of work, Vicki enjoys spending time watching her two sons, Caleb and Ethan, play ice hockey while also serving as their team’s manager.

Faye Davies, Junior Architect

Faye holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from VCU, a Master of Architecture degree from UVA, and certificates in historic preservation and real estate.

In the office, Faye is responsible for creating all as-built floor plans, design documentation, and construction sets for each project that comes through Commonwealth Home Design. Additionally, she is creating a tech database for all architectural, structural, and interior aspects for the entirety of the phases.

Under the team’s guidance, Faye is learning more about all aspects of the firm and occasionally joins site visits or design selections. Faye loves to learn and is constantly looking for new ways to explore the field, whether that be understanding the behind-the-scenes of estimating, design selection, or construction.

After hours, Faye is known to be out and about on adventures with friends, working on a craft project, playing video games, or watching a show with her two cats, Beau and Gossie.

Susie Navarra, EA/Office Manager

Susie brings over 30 years of executive and administrative experience, supporting leadership teams across a variety of industries.

At Commonwealth Home Design, Susie manages various tasks and schedules, ensuring day‑to‑day office operations run smoothly. She works closely with Commonwealth’s architects and designers, striving to meet the administrative needs and provide support in all areas necessary.

Susie is consistent and determined to create an efficient, successful environment that enables our creative team to execute their work and deliver the best possible results to Commonwealth’s customers.

Before joining Commonwealth, Susie held executive administrative roles at both Visa Inc. and MPR Associates, where she developed her expertise in executive support and office management. She also has an extensive background in project management and executive financing from her 15+ years at Tyco Integrated Security.

Outside of the office, Susie looks forward to spending time with her two grown children, enjoys family, snuggling up at home with her 14-year-old cat, Whiskers, taking trips to Jupiter Beach, and watching the Florida Panthers win the Stanley Cup. Go Cats!

Above all, Susie loves watching her daughter perform on the mainstage in theatrical productions at the College of William and Mary. Go Tribe!
